If there is only one stretch you could do before a workout, this would be it.

The World’s Greatest Stretch lengthens and strengthens three key areas–the ankles, hips and thoracic spine. It’s a great movement to start your workout with because it targets so many muscles in a relatively short period of time–hip flexors, hamstrings, adductors, glutes, calves, quads, thoracic spine, chest, shoulders, lower back and obliques.

How To Perform:

1.Begin in a plank position with hands below shoulders

2. Step your left foot towards the outside of your left hand. Your right knee should remain above the floor

3. Now move your left elbow inside towards your left foot. Your hips should remain square and your back as flat as possible

4. Continue the movement by moving your left hand outside of your left foot and rotate and reach towards the ceiling

5. Complete the movement by returning your left hand back to its starting position, left foot returning you back into a plank position

Repeat the movement on your right side

This movement combines static and dynamic movements and will challenge your Central Nervous System while helping to increase your blood flow and range of motion.
