Our friend Elizabeth Pattalis has taken an old dessert favourite and turned it into the perfect breakfast alternative
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup water
- Handful crushed walnuts
- Apple sliced
- Butter (I used nuttelex)
1. In a saucepan add the liquid and oats. Simmer until creamy, about 10 minutes.
2. In a separate saucepan, add a little butter, the apple slices and cinnamon. Cook until softened.
3. Once both are cooked, in a bowl add the oats with the apple slices on top. Add the walnuts. You may like to add a bit of yogurt too.
